Pulaski, WI - September 2, 2008 - Genmar Yacht Group will be recognized on Friday, September 5, 2008 by Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources' Secretary Matt Frank, for demonstrating a commitment to superior environmental performance through its management practices. As a part of Green Tier, a collaborative system between participating businesses and the Department of Natural Resources, the company has achieved a reduction in VOC emissions, small generator status due to successful hazardous waste minimization programs and a 40 percent reduction in wastewater discharges since 2004.
By streamlining environmental requirements and encouraging new environmental technologies, Green Tier is designed to help environmentally responsible companies achieve both environmental and economic gains.

The company has reduced waste by implementing mature recycling and manufacturing programs. Further efforts include reducing waste, water and energy consumption, pursing low-VOC/low-HAP products and most importantly enhancing the pre-existing environmental management system already in affect.
